This course examines the major promises God made throughout the Old Testament and demonstrates how they find their ultimate fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the New Covenant. Special attention will be given to the biblical themes of covenant, kingdom, temple, land, priesthood, and the people of God, tracing their development from promise to fulfillment. The course will also introduce and critically evaluate several major theological frameworks for understanding redemptive history, including Dispensationalism, Reformed Covenant Theology, Supersessionism, and New Covenant Fulfillment Theology. Students will be encouraged to examine these systems in light of Scripture and develop a coherent biblical theology centered on Christ.
